Whadya Mean You Don't Trim Your Candle Wick?!
Look, we're not here to judge.
Actually, that's a lie; we're judging. Trimming your wick is a crucial part of caring for your candle, and if you've ever burned a candle only for the jar to be filled with soot, then the wick is likely to blame. (You can also blame a few other factors, but we'll get into that some other time)
So why trim the wick, you ask? Well, for starters, it helps your candle to burn cleaner, last longer, and throw the scent better! When you burn a candle with a blackened and burned out wick, the candle can no longer perform to the best of its abilities, so after each burn, you should trim the wick back to 1/2 inch.
You can do this with wick trimmers, nail clippers, scissors, etc. So go forth and trim those wicks y'all, and don't say we never taught you anything!
